Setting Up the CA / Exam Score Split
Before any scores are entered, you need to tell Edustream how assessments are divided for each term. The most common split is 40% Continuous Assessment (CA) and 60% Examination, but your school can use any combination that adds up to 100%.Configure the Assessment Split
Go to Assessment Settings
Navigate to Academics → Assessments → Settings and select the relevant Academic Year and Term.
Set CA and Exam Weights
Enter the percentage weight for CA and for the Examination. For example, enter 40 for CA and 60 for Exam. The two values must sum to 100 — Edustream validates this before saving.
Apply to Classes
Choose whether this split applies to all classes school-wide or only to selected class levels. Some schools use a different weighting for exam classes (e.g., SS 3).
The assessment split is configured per term. If your school changes the weighting in a later term, update the setting at the start of that term before teachers begin entering scores.
Configuring the Grade Scale
The grade scale maps a student’s total percentage score to a letter grade, a descriptive remark, and a grade point. Edustream supports fully customizable grade boundaries so you can match your school’s official grading policy exactly.Set Up Grade Levels
Open Grade Scale Settings
Go to Academics → Assessments → Grade Scale. You will see a table listing all existing grade levels, or an empty table if none have been configured yet.
Add a Grade Level
Click Add Grade Level and fill in the following fields:
- Letter Grade — e.g., A, B, C, D, or F
- Minimum Score — the lowest percentage that earns this grade (e.g., 70)
- Maximum Score — the highest percentage for this grade (e.g., 100)
- Remark — the descriptive label shown on report cards (e.g., Excellent, Good, Pass, Fail)
- Grade Point — the numeric weight used for GPA calculations (e.g., 5, 4, 3, 2, 1)
Repeat for Each Grade
Add a row for every grade your school uses. Ensure the score ranges are contiguous — no gaps or overlaps — so every possible score maps to exactly one grade.
Entering Student Scores
Once the split and grade scale are configured, subject teachers can log in and enter scores directly into their class gradebooks.Enter CA and Exam Scores
Open the Gradebook
Go to Academics → Assessments → Gradebook, then select the Class, Subject, and Term. You will see a list of all students enrolled in that class with blank CA and Exam columns.
Enter CA Scores
Click into each cell in the CA column and type the student’s continuous assessment score. The cell validates the entry against the maximum CA mark configured in your settings.
Automatic Computations
Edustream performs the following calculations automatically after scores are saved — you do not need to do anything additional.Total Score
The weighted total is computed as: (CA ÷ CA max) × CA weight + (Exam ÷ Exam max) × Exam weight. The result is a score out of 100.
Letter Grade & Remark
Each student’s total score is matched against your configured grade scale to assign the correct letter grade and descriptive remark automatically.
Subject Position
Edustream ranks students within the class for each subject based on total score. Tied scores share the same position.
Class Average
The class average for each subject is calculated and displayed in the gradebook and on every student’s report card.
Affective Domain (Behavioral Remarks)
The affective domain section captures your teachers’ observations about each student’s character and conduct — qualities that academic scores alone do not reflect.Enter Affective Domain Remarks
Open the Affective Domain Sheet
In the Gradebook, select the Affective Domain tab for the relevant class and term.
Rate Each Trait
For each student, the form teacher rates the following traits using a scale such as Excellent, Good, Fair, or Poor:
- Punctuality — arrives to school and class on time
- Neatness — personal hygiene and uniform presentation
- Attentiveness — focuses during lessons
- Honesty — demonstrates integrity
- Politeness — respectful to peers and staff
- Teamwork — collaborates effectively with others
Affective domain entries are completed by the student’s form teacher, not by subject teachers. Only the form teacher’s account has write access to this section for their assigned class.
Viewing Class Results
After all scores have been entered, you can review a consolidated results sheet for any class.Open Class Results
Go to Academics → Assessments → Class Results, then select the class, term, and academic year.
Review the Results Table
The table shows every student’s score for each subject, their total, grade, and position. You can sort by any column and filter by subject or grade.

- Administrator View
- Form Teacher View
Subject teachers see only the classes and subjects assigned to them. They can view results for their subjects across all enrolled students.
